Introduction to ORETSA

Our Purpose
ORETSA believes that education is the foundation of a trusted, ethical and successful real estate industry. Well-trained property practitioners, estate agents and principal estate agents not only build successful careers but also protect consumers, strengthen businesses, and contribute to a more professional property sector.
We are a registered Non-Profit Organisation, registration number 2026/612740/08 established to represent the collective interests of Property Practitioners (including the new Property Practitioners as disclosed and listed in the new Property Practitioners Act), Estate Agents, Principal Estate Agents, Real Estaties and Property Practitioner Businesses, Independent Training Organisations (“ITOs”), accredited Skills Development Providers (“SDPs”), education specialists, assessors, moderators, curriculum developers, professional trainers and facilitators serving the South African property profession as a whole.
The establishment of ORETSA reflects the recognition that South Africa’s property education sector requires an Independent Industry Representative Body dedicated specifically to education, training, competency standards, and professional development.
ORETSA brings together decades of experienced trainers, facilitators, assessors, moderators and accredited training providers who share one common purpose: to strengthen the real estate profession through high-quality education and training. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing and the promotion of best practices, we strive to standardise training across South Africa while encouraging innovation and excellence in learning and adhering to all legislation within the training sector.
